Today in Nigeria, The school curriculum is broad based combination of British Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum(IPC) and Nigerian Curriculum. For JSS classes or Basic 7-9, most schools emphasize the basic skills in the core subjects which are: English Language, Mathematics, Integrated Science, Introductory Technology, Social Studies, and Agricultural Science.
In SSS classes, student takes the six core subjects: English Language Mathematics or Mathematics with Further mathematics Geography History English literature Biology Agriculture Science, Technical Drawing or Art Yoruba, Hausa or Igbo
In most Nigerian schools, Pre-School is made up of the Creche, Playgroup, and Kindergarten. The Nursery sections follow a blend or selection from British Curriculum, International Primary Curriculum(IPC) and Nigerian Curriculum.
